How to make an online group birthday card

Create a party, collect wishes from friends, then send the link to the birthday person. Follow along as we prepare Seona's birthday.

These are illustrated examples. The names and messages are samples; nothing here can be entered or saved.

  1. 1 / 4 · The friend organizing it

    Create a party

    Create a party — sign in, enter the birthday person's name, then choose Create a party. You can leave the date blank.

    To limit access to invited friends, turn on the entry code option and share the code along with the invite link.

  2. 2 / 4 · The friend organizing it

    Invite friends

    Creating a party gives you two links. Send your friends the invite link. Copy it and paste it into a group chat without the birthday person.

    If you added an entry code, the button copies both the link and code. Keep the reveal link until everyone's wishes are ready.

  3. 3 / 4 · Invited friends

    Leave a wish

    Friends open the invite link and choose Leave a birthday wish. They'll be asked to sign in if they haven't already.

    Create a character, add your name and message, then submit. You can attach photos or a voice recording too.

    The waiting room shows characters and names, but keeps other friends' messages hidden. Need ideas? Try birthday message ideas for inspiration.

  4. 4 / 4 · Organizer → birthday person

    Send it to the birthday person

    When the wishes are ready, find your party in My Page and open View links. Expand the birthday person's invitation and copy the reveal link to send directly to them.

    They open the link, sign in, and confirm they're Seona. Then they can read each character's wishes and revisit them in the message collection.

    The party isn't sent or opened automatically on the birthday. Deliver the link yourself whenever you're ready.

    Send the reveal link in a private chat with the birthday person. It isn't protected by the entry code. Anyone else who receives it can sign in and read the messages.

Common questions

Who needs to sign in?
The organizer, friends leaving wishes, and the birthday person receiving them all need to sign in. Browsing the waiting room through an invite link doesn't require login.
Can friends read each other's messages?
The waiting room shows names and characters, but not messages. Anyone with the reveal link can sign in and read all wishes, so send it only to the birthday person.
Can I edit my message?
Sign in with the account you used to write it, open the same invite link, and choose Edit my message.
Does it open automatically on the birthday?
No. The organizer sends the reveal link when they're ready. Adding a birthday doesn't lock the link until that date.
Where can I find my party links?
Sign in with the account you used to create the party. Find it in the Hosted tab in My Page, then open View links to see both links again.

Now invite your friends

Once you have a name, create the party. You can always find its invite link again in My Page.
